Brown Butter Parmesan Asparagus with Walnuts

Cooking with Tupperware making Brown Butter Parmesan Asparagus with Walnuts in the Chef Series II skillet and the Microwave Smart Multi-cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch asparagus ends trimmed 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter, about 3/4 pound
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1/2 tsp chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • Kosher salt, as needed
  • Lemon juice optional

Instructions

  • Fill Base of Smart Multi-Cooker with 13⁄4-cup water to the max fill line for steam. Place Large Shielded Colander in Base.
  • Place asparagus in Large Shielded Colander.
  • Cover with the Shielded Cover and microwave on high power 12–14 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, melt the butter in a Chef Series II skillet over medium heat. Cook until the foam has subsided and the butter turns a deep golden brown, about 4 minutes. (Take care that it doesn't burn.)
  • Stir in the nuts and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the garlic and thyme and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and whisk in the cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Spoon nut mixture over warm asparagus and serve at once.
